Steven Gerrard is not short of admirers. But, nobody would have thought a basketball great like Kobe Bryant would like football, let alone be a big fan of the footballing legend. Upon hearing that Gerrard will be heading across the Atlantic to play for Los Angeles Galaxy, Bryant wished Gerrard the very best and hoped that the Englishman would bring many more championships to Galaxy.
LA Galaxy uploaded the video of Kobe Bryant welcoming Stevie G on their website and official YouTube account.
Bryant, who recently overtook Michael Jordan to be placed third in the all-time scoring charts in the NBA, has been with the Los Angeles Lakers throughout his career.
He looked extremely excited to be able to see a man, who he has been a big fan of, ply his trade in Major League Soccer (MLS).
He said that he has been a fan of Gerrard for a long time for his versatility, aggressiveness and leadership. He also said he will be rooting Gerrard on.
