New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) The government will set up a National Sports Academy to encourage sports in India.
"The government will set up National Sports Academy for different sports in different parts of India," Arun Jaitley said while presenting the national budget in the Lok Sabha.
He said Rs.200 crore will be set aside to upgrade indoor and outdoor stadium in Jammu and Kashmir to international standards. The finance minister added that a Sports University will be set up in Manipur. For this, Rs.100 crore will be provided in the current financial year.
