Crans Montana (Switzerland), Sep 7 (IANS) Angelo Que of the Philippines is ready for his final charge after he made his move with a third round three-under-par 68 at the 2.1 million euro European Masters Saturday.
The Filipino may have credited lady luck for giving him a tied-seventh finish in his debut at the tourney in 2009 but his performances at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club this week have indicated otherwise.
After two successive 70s, Que posted his best score of 68 to head into the final round with his confidence high.
“You create your own luck. I just had a bad break in the last three holes today but overall I’m happy as shooting under-par is a good score here. I still have one more chance to go low tomorrow and hopefully I’ll do it,” said Que after compiling a three-day total of five-under-par 208.
“I’m capable of doing it and I just have to believe in myself, stay patient and hopefully everything will go my way,” added the three-time Asian Tour winner.
With players from the Asian Tour continuing to put up a strong challenge, Que is also not discounting an Asian player of creating an upset and become the first Asian to win the European Masters.
“A lot of our guys are right up there because we’re getting used to the course, the altitude, the weather and I think it goes to show that if you put us anywhere, we can pretty much do anything,” said Que.
The European Masters is the only tournament on European soil to be jointly sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour and marks the start of the second half of the Asian Tour season.
