Hero Indian Open 2016: Strong Indian presence in Top-15

New Delhi, 19 March 2016: In a story that is a near repeat of last two editions, SSP Chawrasia and Anirban Lahiri are locked into another title clash with the former holding the lead at the end of the third day of the Hero Indian Open 2016.

Chawrasia is at 14-under, while Lahiri is at 10-under along with Rashid Khan and in between them and Chawrasia is Australian Terry Pilkadaris at 12-under.

But there is an another Indian trio that is also jostling for top-10 finishes. Rahil Gangjee, whose best finish in the Hero Indian Open is third place in 2007, is lying Tied-fifth after a round of 66 that took him to nine-under, while Arjun Atwal, the 1999 Indian Open winner, is Tied-ninth at eight-under. Shiv Kapur, who was fourth at the 2012 Hero Indian Open, is Tied-14th at seven-under.

Gangjee shot a 66 to share fifth place with Korean rising star Jeunghun Wang, Brazilian Adilson Da Silva and Frenchman Sebastien Gros, who will head into the final round five shots off the pace.

Atwal had a bogey free round of 67 and Kapur seemed to be headed for as good a day till he dropped shots on 10th and 12th and then a double bogey on 16th.

Among the other prominent Indians, Sanjay Kumar (67-72-72) is Tied-20, while Ajeetesh Sandhu (76-66-70) and Honey Baisoya (68-72-72) are Tied-28th. Shamim Khan and Mukesh Kumar are Tied 34th and Jeev Milkha Singh and Shankar Das are tied 43rd.
