Rahul Bhalla keeps the local flag high on Day Two of Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival

Local lad Rahul Bhalla played the best round of his career after winning in 0-5 category on day two of Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival at Karnataka Golf Association. Bhalla, the sole representative in the 0-5 category, deposited a score card with a nett score of 31 points, calculated under the Modified Stableford Format. Attributing his win to the hard work of Coach Gaurav Diwan, Bhalla said, “I played excellent golf today. I want to give credit to my coach; Gaurav for this win as he has given me many valuable tips in his golf clinics which helped me in winning the game.”

With Arjun Malik and Krishna Prasad locked in a tie in the 6-10 category with 35 points each, Malik won the tie based on a count-back with the score of 19 points against Krishna Prasad’s 17. In the 11-15 category, Royal Calcutta Golf Club’s Angad Luthra won amongst his peers with an extremely respectable score of 37 points while Saket Batra scored the same to win in the 16-20 category.

While every winner in each of the five categories (0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-24), walked away with a Trophy and a Callaway Hybrid, the winning team of Father and Son duo; AM Luthra and Angad Luthra, carding a joint score of 70 points, won a couple voucher each for 3 Nights and 4 Days at The Serai Resorts in Chickmanglur, Karnataka.

Around 100 golfers from across the country teed off for a position in the team to represent India at The World Golfers Championships in Durban.
