Usha Southern Indian Golf Championship: Raksha Phadke comes up trumps

Bangalore, June 5 (IANS): Raksha Phadke repeated her Day 2 stellar performance on the final day as well to emerge the winner of the Usha Southern India Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship here Thursday.

Raksha stitched together a string of six birdies (five on the front nine and one on the back nine) and two bogeys to score a total of 214.

Trailing behind by five strokes was Tvesa Malik, who finished with a total of 219. Her score at the end was par 72, carding just one birdie and one bogey. Tvesa, currently eighth in the Order of Merit of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Ladies Tour, displayed a fairly consistent performance.

Third position was jointly taken by Vrishali Sinha and Aditi Ashok. They ended with a final score of 220, trailing by one stroke behind Tvesa while Seher Atwal secured fourth position with a total of 221.

Other notable names in the top-10 included Astha Madan and Ridhima Dilawari (223), Gauri Monda (224), Siddhi Kapoor and Millie Saroha (225).

This was the second tournament of the championship played over 54 holes over three days in stroke pay format.
