Coorg (Karnataka), Sep 18 (IANS) Veteran Smriti Mehra carded two-under 68 to take lead on the second day of the 11th leg of the Hero Women's Professional Golf Tour here Thursday. Smriti, who was trailing Vani Kapoor after the opening round at the Coorg Golf Links Wednesday with a score of 6-over 76, scored five birdies on the second, seventh, 10th, 16th and 17th holes against three bogies on the eighth, 13th and 18th, taking her overall score to 144, a two-stroke lead over Vani.
Delhi's Vani managed a singles birdie on the 17th against two bogies on the eighth and 16th holes which helped her to stay ahead of third placed Gursimar Badwal.
Kapurthala's Gursimar had an indifferent front nine where she carded three bogies on the third, fourth and seventh holes. However, she carded just one more bogey on the 10th to pull things back. She currently sits on 151.
Kolkata's Neha Tripathi had a difficult day. She carded five bogies on the first, fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth holes in her front nine. Her birdie-less round had two more bogies on the 10th and 12th. With 7 over 77, she is placed fourth with a total score of 155.
Jaipur's Pallavi Jain is fifth with a total score of 160.
