Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson to fight out at the US PGA Championships

World No.1 Tiger Woods and his arch rival, World No. 2, Phil Mickelson are once again ready to battle it out for the PGA Championship.

Both Woods and Mickelson have been in good touch with Mickelson winning the British Open in Muirfield while Woods pulled off a seven-stroke win at the Bridgestone, making it his fifth win this year.

The Woods-Mickelson rivalry goes back a long time, dating back to the late nineties.

When asked about the possible renewal of their rivalry, Mickelson said: “I would love that opportunity. I’ve always been a competitive person I’m as motivated as ever to compete and to play and get the best golf out of me, to hopefully play against Tiger when he’s playing his best. That would ultimately be the goal – I can play as well as I can at the same time he’s doing the same.”

Woods is going through the longest major drought of his career, but the American said he is confident that he can pull off another win this year at the Oak Hill event, reports Golf365.

“I think it’s been a great year so far for me. I feel like my game’s pretty good,” Woods added.
