Bhubneswar February 12, 2014: The Hero Hockey India League will witness Uttar Pradesh Wizards competing with Kalinga Lancers tomorrow at Bhubneshwar. Currently seated on the fourth position in the points table, UP Wizards will be aiming to win and to continue playing as a strong team and give a tough fight to Kalinga Lancers.
On the other hand, Kalinga Lancers, who have been gaining momentum in the previous matches, will strive hard to give an even better performance in their match against the UP Wizards tomorrow. They stunned the Jaypee Punjab Warriors by not allowing them to win against them and ensuring that the match ended in a draw. The team is on a high and will want to continue giving a tough fight to the Wizards tomorrow on their home turf.
Speaking on their match against Kalinga Lancers, VR Raghunath, captain of Uttar Pradesh Wizards said, “It’s an important game for us. We have to make sure that we qualify for the semi-final. Tomorrow’s game would be crucial as it will affect the pool standing of the top teams in the points tally. Plus, we need to win the game as it will also boost our morale and confidence.”
On tomorrow’s match against Kalinga Lancers, Reolant Oltmans, Coach, Uttar Pradesh Wizards, said, “We are looking forward to a wonderful game. Our strategy would be to focus on our strengths and improve upon the weak areas. We intend to win tomorrow’s game.”
Speaking on their match against the Uttar Pradesh Wizards, Kalinga Lancers’ Head Coach Terry Walsh said, “We have lost another player (Mandeep) to injury in our last encounter; this is disappointing for us. Tomorrow’s match against Uttar Pradesh Wizards is important for us as the results will have bearing on semifinals standing. We will focus on converting our chances in to goal.”
