Hockey India has anounced that tickets for the highly anticipated Hockey World League Finals have become available online, according to the Economic Times. The event will be held at the Raipur International Hockey Stadium from 28th November to 6th December and is the first international event to be held not only at the venue, but in the city of Raipur as well.
The tickets, which are available at www.ticketgenie.in, are priced at Rs.50 and Rs.100 for the General Stands, and at Rs. 1000 for the VIP Stands. Secretary General of Hockey India, Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad, had the following to say regarding the announcement: “I am proud to announce the kick start of the online ticket sales of the much awaited Hero Hockey World League Final to be held in Raipur. We are confident of a positive response from the hockey fans in the city and I am sure the spectators will have a great time watching their favourite players LIVE in front of them.”
The Hockey World League Finals will see eight nations, split into 2 pools, compete for the prestigious trophy. India are placed in Pool ‘B’, alongside defending champions and globally 2nd ranked Netherlands. 3rd ranked Germany and 6th ranked Argentina. Pool ‘A’ consists of world number one Australia, 4th ranked Belgium, 5th ranked England and Canada.
The eight competitors qualified for the finals through the Hockey World League Semifinals, which took place in Argentina and Belgium earlier this year and also served as qualifiers for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
