Defending champions India cruised into the final of the women’s Kabaddi World Cup being held at Bathinda. It was a one-sided affair as India thrashed first timers Pakistan by the scoreline of 46-16.

India will face New Zealand in the final, who defeated Denmark 45-25 in the other semifinal. New Zealand is also competing for the first time in the World Cup, which is being hosted by the Punjab Kabaddi Association(PKA).

The India-Pakistan encounter brought the best out of their fans as they cheered the two teams while both teams showcased great skill.

PKA president and Punjab minister Sikandar Singh Maluka said, “This is the spirit of the game, which was splendidly displayed by both traditional rivals. Even other teams too have shown great sportsman spirit in the tournament.”

The final will be held between India and New Zealand on Thursday.
