Dabang Delhi performance so far
Dabang Delhi showed more intent than ever as they beat Bengal Warriors winning 41-20 in a crucial match to keep hopes of a semis spot alive. The capital side has been brilliant in recent matches and continued their late surge towards a semis spot. Meraj Sheykh, Kashiling Adake, and Sachin Shingade were flawless helping Delhi take a 21-10 lead at half time.
The biggest plus of the night was Kashiling Adake’s return to form. The Delhi captain at the start of the season, finally announced himself on Season 4 by dismantling the Bengal defense last night. Bengal Warriors looked out of sorts in their last match of Season 4, as Delhi eased to a huge 41-20 win.
Delhi’s skipper, Meraj Sheykh has been exceptional for the Dabangs, but his job’s not yet over. What’s helped Delhi more is his willingness to take on more raids than he did last season, and the Iranian has 51 raid points to his credit. Sheykh needs to put up a good showing today, both on the defense and attack if Delhi is to overcome the Pirates’ challenge.
Sachin Shingade has been sensational in Delhi’s defense all of Season 4, with his vicious tackles. With 36 tackle points, Shingade will have to be solid against a strong Pirates attack. Kashiling Adake’s return to form has been much awaited, and Delhi will expect bigger things from him following a brilliant performance against Bengal Warriors. His experience will count a lot going into the final stages of Season 4.
Patna Pirates performance so far
Patna Pirates were impressive in their 31-28 victory against Puneri Paltans in their last match. The win was vital, as it sealed Pirates’ spot in the top 4, along with Jaipur Pink Panthers. Paltans’ missed Manjeet Chhillar in this all-important match for their bid of a semis place. Deepak Hooda took over Pune’s captaincy. Pardeep Narwal troubled the Pune defense, as Patna defense was solid to hold on to a 15-10 halftime lead.
Deepak Hooda was the star in the second half as he kept scoring points for the Paltans to keep the pressure on the defending champions. Parmod Narwal, too, was impressive in the second half. Patna’s defense did lose concentration for a moment but resisted Pune’s comeback to win 31-28.
Pardeep Narwal has been unstoppable this season. The 19-year old has come of age in Season 4 and continues to dazzle everyone with his performances. He might be rested tonight, ahead of Patna’s knockout matches. Narwal already has 96 raid points to his name.
Rajesh Mondal has performed below expectations this season, registering only 42 raid points thus far. He has been efficient enough, but will look to go into the knockout stages with a solid performance.
The Patna defense has been almost flawless this season, thanks to Fazel Atrachali, Dharmaraj Cheralathan, and Kuldeep Singh. The trio has played a vital role in Patna’s success this season. The defenders have 31, 29 and 23 tackle points, respectively.
Match Prediction
The match will be an important one for Delhi, and they’ll need all the home support they can get in today’s match. Delhi HAVE to win, and will expect standout performances from their skipper, Meraj Sheykh, and their skipper at the start of the season, Kashiling Adake.
