An eight-member team of Nepal Shitoriyu Karate Association left for Japan to participate in the World Shitoriyu Karate Championship, which is scheduled to start from 14 September 2013 at Tokyo, Japan.

Three male and three female Nepali players will participate in their individual events as well as two team events in the World Shitoriyu Karate Championship.

South Asian Games 2012 (SAG 2010) gold-medalist Sunil Lama and Ganga Devi Adhikari are also part of the team.

Following are the team members who left for Japan to participate in the World Shitoriyu Karate Championship.

  3. Bijay Lama (55 KG Male)
  4. Ganga Devi Adhikari (68 KG Female)
  5. Anu Adhikari (50 KG Female)
  6. Mallika Thapa (55 KG Female)
  7. Dawa Gurung (Team Leader, President of Nepal Shitoriyu Karate Association)
  8. Deepak Shrestha (Coach)

National Sports Council Member Secretary Mr. Yuvaraj Lama is also traveling with the team to Japan. National Sports Council officials bid farewell to the team.
