Australian Open 2017 : Roger Federer steamrolls Berdych to move into Round 4

Federer builds on it with the early break in the second. Berdych has found a rhythm, but some strong backhand winners get Federer the point and the break! 1-0 in the third set. Reckon we may be watching a straight sets win here?

Shouting from the crowd here too - Go Roger, go! And a couple of backhand winners ended with a long shot from Berdych give Federer the second set, 6-4. This set went on 31 minutes, with Federer's winner to unforced error ratio at 9:4, Berdych's at 6:7.

Looks like Berdych is finding a groove here on his serve! He's much better in this set and placing the shot well, putting in some really fast serves, and appears to have found a momentum.

190km/h forehand winner from Federer just zoomed past Berdych! Federer's putting it all in today. Speed, agility, and Berdych's coach, Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic, is looking grim.

Let's not forget that he had some time off for injury, no less!

It's been over 6 months since Federer last played a top 10 player. And today, he's looking to absolutely run through this Berdych match.

Federer races to 4-2 now, and Berdych's unforced error count is mounting quickly. The Czech's almost-a-net-cord goes to the other side of the net, Federer swats it back with a forehand, and Berdych nets it for real this time.

Berdych had a decent start to the year, progressing to the quarter-finals at Doha before eventually losing to Andy Murray.

Elsewhere, Kei Nishikori has beaten Lukas Lacko in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. He'll play the winner of this match next!

Ooh. A stray shot sends a Federer backhand into the net. He survives to hold serve, though.

Annnnd we're up! Berdych wins his first service game for a 1-0 hold!

It's all but done, it would seem, for Lukas Lacko here on Margaret, er, Court! We're now looking at a final set with Nishikori leading two sets to love.

The roof is now closed on Margaret Court Arena. It's begun to rain midway, so they're closing the roof and will dry off the court. Bit of a breather for Nishikori and Lacko!

Kei Nishikori is playing some consistent tennis but Lukas Lacko has some some well-placed forehands! We're going to give it to the fifth seed here. In the end, it's a straightforward first set, going the way of Nishikori 6-4 in 35 minutes.

After Nick Kyrgios another young Aussie talent is putting up a fierce fight. Bernard Tomic, who has been in scraps off-court just as his colleague and friend Kyrgios, is down a set against Briton Dan Evans. The two are now neck and neck in the second, and Tomic's not too shabby on the shot placement!

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has defeated Jack Sock to enter the fourth round.
