The lightweight showdown between streaking division contender Michael Johnson and former 155-pound kingpin Ben Henderson has been canceled, as Henderson pulled out of the match due to some unknown reasons. This match had been used for promotion purposes of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 21 Finale on July 12, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As a result of this cancelation, the promotion opted to name the Jake Ellenberger vs. Stephen Thompson welterweight contest the five-round main event, which was pulled from the upcoming UFC 189 pay-per-view (PPV) and repackaged for FOX Sports 1.
The future of Johnson is yet to be known as some are saying that he might compete at the TUF 21 Finale, but there is also a possibility that he might stay on the sidelines to await his next summons.
