MMA News: Conor McGregor declares his respect for CM Punk

Outspoken and brash, as always

UFC Featherweight Champ, Conor McGregor doesn’t have a lot of good things to say about the WWE or its talents. McGregor went as far as to call WWE superstars ‘pussies’.

“For most part, WWE guys are pussies. They're messed up pussies if you ask me", he said. He said, ““What’s the main guy? John Cena. He’s 40. He’s 40 years of age. He’s walking around in a luminous orange t-shirt and a headband talking about nobody can see him. We can see him right there. He’s a big fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia mother f*cker.”

He even stated that he does not respect former UFC Heavyweight champ and current WWE superstar Brock Lesner either as he is “juiced up to the eyeballs” according to him. He faced a massive amount of backlash for his statements from fans, former and current WWE stars including the likes of Ric Flair, Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar himself.

So it did come off as a surprise when he (Conor) said some good things to say about CM Punk.

Amidst all the criticism and ridicule post his brutal loss at UFC 203, Punk has found a lot of support from all corners. From current WWE superstars to fans, many have lauded Punk for his dedication and courage. But the most surprising name on that list is that of Conor McGregor.

“I’ll tell you what: Fair play to him because he got in there and fought. And not a lot of people do,” McGregor said. “Not a lot of people have the balls to make that walk, so fair play. He got his ass whooped. God bless – he got his ass whooped. Those WWE guys are straight p*****s, I told you all – but he isn’t. He got in and fought.. So fair play to him.. Respect!”

When asked if he thinks that WWE stars should stay out or more guys join, MrGregor sarcastically said, “I think I’m the greatest.”

Conor Mcgregor is likely to fight Eddie Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 205.
