Is Fedor Emelianenko coming to UFC?, Dana White hints at a possible signing

Fedor Emelianenko is slated to join forces with UFC

It's been over a month since heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko announced that he was coming out of retirement. Speculation has been rife as to which MMA organisation the enigmatic Russian will sign with, and recent revelations reveal that the UFC is perhaps the top bidder. On Friday, Bellator president Scott Coker, who had a working relationship with Emelianenko in Strikeforce, announced that the promotion is not interested in signing him.

However UFC’s Dana White has no such reservations and does appear to be interested in signing 'The Last Emperor'. In an interesting comment White left on an Instagram photo, the UFC president hinted at a possible deal being struck with the Russian. Here, in a mock photo of Emelianenko appearing under the UFC banner with the caption "Ckopo" (soon), Dana White is one of the first people to comment on the picture.

Dana White and the UFC have a long history with Fedor. In 2009, the UFC brass met with Emelianenko and M-1 Global president, Vadim Finkelstein. Negotiations were unsuccessful and the former Pride champion joined forces with Strikeforce.

We may find out as soon as this Friday as the promotion has promised to GO BIG prior to the UFC 191 weigh ins. Until then, we should start matching Emelianenko up with current UFC heavyweight because we're fans and that's what we do.
