The highly anticipated rematch between UFC omen's strawweight titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Brazilian No.1 contender Claudia Gadelha has been shelved and would happen only in 2016 due to a broken finger suffered by Gadelha.

She suffered a torn ligament during the UFC 190 main card fight with former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 115-pound champion Jessica Aguilar of which she was facing a six-month medical suspension and for which she was told she has to undergo rehab by the doctor. "I partially tore a ligament in my middle finger. The doctor gave me three months to be 100 percent and do anything with that hand. I will spend 20 days with my finger immobilized," Gadelha said.

She added by saying, "I'm already feeling better, I can move it, but I will need three months to punch with this hand again, so I believe the fight could happen in January." After her close split decision loss to the champion last December, Gadelha dominated Aguilar at UFC 190.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk, who is one of Europe's biggest draws, pummeled Jessica Penne at the UFC Fight Night 69 main event before a stoppage back in June. She too has had a broken finger after the fight and would understand Gadelha’s feeling.

Meanwhile, Jedrzejczyk plans on training with Ronda Rowsey which is a very interesting proposition.
