MMA News: McGregor says Floyd Mayweather is 'afraid' to fight him!

The Notorious Money Fight!

Conor McGregor is one of the biggest superstars in the UFC history. His persona has reached people to follow him far beyond the realms of the MMA community. Not surprisingly, Floyd Mayweather was poked by The Notorious and since then the two have been involved in a heated rivalry, not wasting an opportunity to shoot at each other.

Since the talks of a potential fight between the two died down, now McGregor feels that Mayweather is ‘afraid’ of him.

The Irish superstar expressed his thoughts on a potential fight between the two, during a recent Q&A on social media-

“Floyd is afraid of fighting. Floyd doesn’t want to fight. Floyd wants a boxing match. And I’ve already said ‘No problem. Get my f**king money!’ and when he gets my money then we can box in this boxing match, under these set of specific rules that will keep you alive. So, I’m here. Where’s my money? Because if you keep dropping my name and you haven’t got my money then I am going to show up at your front door.

“So we will see. But Floyd does not want to fight me. Floyd wants a match under a specific set of rules. I don’t need rules. So I’m open. Let’s see what happens. Right now it’s just talk,” he added.

The talks between the duo fighting seemed to turn into a reality when an ESPN official announced a date for the fight, but soon the heat between the two subsided as McGregor accepted his rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202, which he won via a majority decision.

Mayweather has previously denied a match with the boxing’s middleweight kingpin Gennady Golovkin justifying that he: Mayweather, is a businessman. So he insisted he would prefer to battle the Irishman instead of the Kazak warrior. McGregor too has pointed out that it is Mayweather who needs him and not the other way round.

Judging by the whole scenario, it appears that the decision is now left to Mayweather. Whether his comeback is an attempt to beat Rocky Marciano's undefeated record, or simply a way to make millions more, Mayweather has to contact the UFC first, if he wants to fight McGregor.
