Paige VanZant inks new UFC contract, next fight in the main-event at UFC Fight Night 80

‘12-Gauge’ signs new UFC contract

Quickly rising UFC strawweight fighter Paige VanZant is one her way to become one of UFC’s most sought-after stars in the MMA world. Fresh off her dominant win over Alex Chambers at UFC 191, ‘12-Gauge’ has been called out repeatedly by TUF 20 standout Randa Markos.

"Her manager, Mike Roberts, says they want to get a new contract before her next fight," Ariel Helwani said on UFC Tonight. "Randa Markos has been very vocal and wants to fight her. She's pissed that Paige has passed her up in the rankings."

However, as per reports, Paige was in talks for a new contract before she signed on for her next fight as the Chambers fight was the last one on her previous contract. Following the signing of the new contract, UFC has announced that VanZant will headline UFC Fight Night 80, which takes place inside The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Dec. 10, 2015, opposite The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20 alum, Joanne Calderwood.

It is a intriguing match up for Paige, who many, including Dana White, believe has tremendous potential to be fighting for the UFC straw-weight title in the future. Since her debut in the UFC, VanZant has been undefeated and has looked very impressive, particularly with her non-stop pressure game, giving very little leeway for her opponents.
