UFC News: 50 Cent claims Floyd Mayweather is 'Dead Serious' about fighting Conor Mcgregor

Can the claims of 50 Cent finally trigger this fight?

UFC President, Dana White recently attended an interview with Fox Sports Live to promote UFC 206. During the interview, White shared an interesting story which involved Rapper 50 Cent.

Apparently, White bumped into the Grammy Award winner, at a restaurant in New York. During the encounter, the Rapper asked Dana, when will his ‘boy’ (Conor Mcgregor) fight Mayweather. When the UFC President raised his doubts over the fight ever happening, 50 claimed that Mayweather was ‘Dead Serious’ about the seemingly impossible fight.

I was at dinner in New York for [UFC] 205, and we bumped into each other at dinner. So we were hanging out, we were talking for awhile, and then I went over and sat back at my table, and I ate. And then when we were leaving, he said to me, ‘When’s your boy gonna fight, Floyd?’ And I said, ‘My boy? Who are you talking about, Conor?’ And he said, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Floyd don’t want to fight Conor.’ And he goes, ‘He does, Dana. He’s dead serious about it.’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, man. Call Floyd and see what’s going on.’ So that’s how the whole thing got started up again.

Although the short encounter does not confirm anything, it re-ignites the fire in the combat sports fans, who are religiously anticipating the inter-promotional fight.

Dana White has previously shot down the idea of the super fight ever happening. Even during the interview, White hinted that it might still not happen. He noted that even after the two legends were part of the same sport, Mayweather-Pacquiao fight took so long to occur.

Mcgregor and Floyd being from a different sport altogether can hamper this association from ever taking place.

While White does make a valid point, the Mayweather-Mcgregor fight would certainly be everything that the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight wasn’t. With high stakes and bigger name(s) involved, it would shatter every record that there is to break.

The contradictory fighting styles of the mega stars will also factor in, with McGregor’s offensive output being put to the test against the cerebral defensive style of Mayweather.
