UFC News: Ronda Rousey says her UFC 207 bout will be one of her last

Ronda Rousey is nearing the end of her career inside the Octagon

One of the most dominant female mixed martial artists (MMA) of all time, ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey, is apparently nearing the end of her fighting career. Rousey was recently a guest on the Ellen DeDegeneres show on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, to discuss her upcoming title fight with Amanda Nunes at UFC 207, revealing that the bout will be one of her last:

Rousey is coming off of the first loss of her career, in which she suffered a devastating second round KO loss to the now former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm. The bout was a surprise to many after it was initially announced, as Holm was still fairly new to the sport and had only had two victories under the UFC’s banner

Holm would have the best performance of her career, however, as she picked apart Rousey for the entire first round, foreshadowing what was to come in the second as fans sat witnessing in awe. Nobody had ever given Rousey such trouble inside the Octagon, nonetheless finished her in dramatic fashion.

After retreating from the media and taking over a year off from the sport, Rousey is ready to return, and she will do it against the woman who currently rules the division, ‘The Lioness’ Amanda Nunes.

Nunes is coming off of an amazing first round knockout win over Rousey’s longtime rival Miesha Tate, in the main event of the massive UFC 200 card from Las Vegas. Now Rousey will face the stiffest test of her career when she returns to take on Nunes for the title she once held.

Rousey and Nunes will meet in the main event of UFC 207 for the women’s bantamweight title live on pay-per-view, from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 30, 2016.
