WSOF 22 has 3 titles on the line, Tyrone Spong makes a comeback to MMA

The welterweight title fight between Palhares vs. Shields will be one of the most expected fights of the night

World Series of Fighting (WSOF) is going all guns blazing by assembling the greatest fight card in the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion’s history. The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, is going to witness a with a world championship tripleheader, headlined by a fight between the two-time world champion Jake Shields and the reigning WSOF World Welterweight Champion Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares. The event will be held on the Saturday, 1st of August and will be aired live on the NBC Sports Network .

The co-headlining fight of the night is a bantamweight contest between the current WSOF World Bantamweight (135 pounds) Champion Marlon Moraes and the undefeated contender Sheymon Moraes. In another fight, the two undefeated flyweights-Donavon Frelow and Magomed “Gladiator” Bibulatov-will go head to head for the first ever WSOF flyweight title. Tyrone Spong also makes a comeback to the cage at the WSOF 22 against a veteran powerhouse Mike Kyle in a light heavyweight contest.

"This is, in my opinion, the most incredible lineup of fights featuring marquee talent that WSOF has put together since we launched the company in 2012," said WSOF President Ray Sefo. "We have a collection of highly competitive match ups with top-caliber superstars that have all made some kind of mark in the sport, and it should be a spectacular night of world-class combat."

The main card fight of WSOF 22: "Palhares vs. Shields" airs at 11 p.m. ET on August 1 on the NBCSN and will go head to head on the UFC 190: "Rousey vs. Correia" pay-per-view (PPV) event in Brazil, which will start at 10 p.m. ET.
