The whole combat sports community is still coming to terms with the events that made waves over the weekend; Michael Bisping’s Rocky-like title win over Luke Rockhold, Brock Lesnar returning to the UFC to face Mark Hunt and Kimbo Slice’s tragic premature death.
WWE fans will indubitably be fine-tuned to any developments on the Brock Lesnar front. The former UFC and WWE Heavyweight Champion’s fight at UFC 200 will be a one-off appearance and the company still intends to have him perform at SummerSlam in August.
The Biggest Party of the Summer could also witness a top UFC fighter making an appearance in exchange for Brock’s feature fight in July, according to cagesideseats.com. Number eight-ranked Strawweight Paige ‘12-gauge’ VanZant could follow up her 2nd place performance in Dancing With The Stars with a spot at SummerSlam.
VanZant and her partner Mark Ballas blew away all the competition but one pair on the dancing reality show, finishing runners-up to Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd. The media raved over her show-stealing moves and needless to say, caught the eye of mainstream entertainment.
There are, however, conflicting reports that suggest that Lesnar’s fight against Hunt is the WWE’s recompense for Ronda Rousey’s appearance at WrestleMania 31.
