Parthasarathy to head Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India

Col. Prem Kumar Parthasarathy (retd) on Saturday assumed office as Chief Operating Officer of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

A FMSCI press release here said Col. Parthasarathy, 56, is a keen sports enthusiast and administrator with interests in sailing and motorsports. He has over 30 years of experience with motor workshops in the army.

He earned his engineering degree from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi, and a post graduate diploma in automobile engineering from the Military College of EME (MCME).

His exposure to motorsports include service back-up and trials to support the Himalayan Rally, and involvement with sponsorship and promotion of Indian race drivers and karting drivers both in India and overseas.

Col. Parthasarathy has organised motorcycle shows and presentation of Motor and Heavy Engineering equipment at the Republic Day Parade for the Army, the release added.

A keen sailor, he was involved in the Indian Army's competitive sailing activities and was conferred with the title of Honorary Rear Commodore by the EMESA.

He has also served as a member to a number of All India Councils of Boats. Apart from winning many medals in sailing, Parthasarathy was involved in organising of the F1 speedboat race in Mumbai as well as sailing regattas and national events of various classes of boats.
