Gouramangi Singh: A Brief Biography

Moirangthem Gouramangi Singh is an Indian professional association football player who plays as a centre back for I-League team Prayag United. He is a product of the Tata Football Academy and has played for many clubs in the country including Dempo SC. He is currently playing for Churchill Brothers. During his time with Dempo, Singh won the Federation Cup and the National Football League. Over the course of his professional career, Singh has won nearly every club trophy in India including the National Football League, the Federation Cup with Mahindra United in 2005-2006 and the I-League in 2009. Singh was also voted best defender in the I-League for the 2008-09 season. Singh started the 2010-11 I-League season with Churchill Brothers SC on January 29, 2011. He first came into spotlight, when he captained the winning Indian team (Under 18) at the Ian Rush Trophy in 2003. In 2006, Singh made his debut for India and was a vital member of the Indian team that won the Nehru Cup International Football Tournament 2007 beating Syria. He was also an important part of the victorious India team at the2008 AFC Challenge Cup. He scored his 6th goal for India in Final of 2012 Nehru Cup against Cameroon.
