Rohan Bopanna
BIORohan Bopanna is an Indian professional tennis player. He his Davis Cup debut for India versus Australia in September 2002 and turned pro in 2003. Bopanna established himself as one of India's finest doubles players at the 2007 Hopman Cup. In 2008, he won the men's doubles title at the 2008 Countrywide Classic in Los Angeles. The following year he made it to the final of the SAP Open along with his partner Jarkko Nieminen. In February 2010, Bopanna won his second ATP doubles title, beating Karol Beck and Harel Levy in the final of the Johannesburg Open. The same year they beat world no. 1 pair of the Bryan brothers to take home the Wimbeldon Championship. In 2012, Bopanna paired up with Mahesh Bhupathi to win their first title together in Dubai. For his efforts in bridging political barriers through sports, Rohan Bopanna was nominated in 2010 as a Champion for Peace by Monaco-based organization, Peace and Sport. He has also been awarded the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of the Year award.
