Rupinder Pal Singh: A Brief Biography

A long-standing fixture on the Indian field hockey team, Rupinder Pal Singh, known by his teammates as ‘Bob’, has helped the team to many of its successes at the Hockey World League. Singh debuted for the international team at age 20, playing at that year’s Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia for the Indian national side. Like many members of the Indian hockey side, Singh is a native of Punjab. From the northern Indian city of Faridkot, Singh has featured regularly on the Indian team’s wins. India took the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 2010, and in 2011 Singh took a hat-trick in the side’s match against Great Britain.
