BIO: Sardara Singh, often referred as Sardar Singh, is an Indian field hockey player. Sardara usually plays the center half position on the Indian national hockey team. He is credited as the youngest player to ever captain the India national hockey team in the 2008 Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey tournament, wherein he played as a midfielder. He was adjudged as the player of the tournament in 2010 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, 2012 Summer Olympics qualifiers and 2012 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. He was also part of the squad that won the gold medal in the Hockey Asia Cup at Chennai in 2007. He was the only Asian player to be selected in FIH World XI in 2010 and the only Indian player to be selected in FIH World XI in 2011. He was conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2012.
