A cricket fanatic, Avishek had the statistics of the USA cricket team by heart before they even played the 2004 Champions Trophy. A canny right arm slow swinger in the mould of Malinga and effective lower order bat in the mould of Munaf Patel, his budding cricket career was cut short by the propaganda "The pen is mightier than the bat" and since then he has been following the same mantra.
