Adidas Supernova Glide Boost 7 Review

Each year, Adidas expands its resilient Boost midsole material. Adidas has done it this year as well. The Glide's midsole is now 55 percent Boost. Boost is also resistant to temperature variables, so it should function well in cold conditions. It provides unmatched energy return and superior cushioning. Regarding the sizing it’s unlike other Adidas offerings, the Glide's fit is 'Spot on.’ It is true to its size.

This shoe is not as fast as the Adios or Boston Boost, but the Glide is very durable and comfortable. It does all this without sacrificing a good amounts of ground feedback. Except for a few things here and there the Glide Boost 7 retains a familiar look and feel of Glide 6 but Adidas has given subtle updates to this model. Visually the Glide 7 looks very familiar to Glide 6 as well.

Boost midsole and rubber outsole are both very similar to Glide 6. The Upper mesh has the same engineered (it is open in some areas and close knitted in others) structure. The fused toe bumper and tongue are also identical. The quilt padded tongue is same as Glide 6. The engineered mesh upper adapts to all foot sizes and types and at the same time eliminates irritation. Adidas have taken some of the upper design specifications from the Energy Boost. The midsole and heel are reinforced by flexible rubberized welded overlays which move with the foot but provide a nice feeling of structure and at the same time reduces irritation. The gusseted tongue functions as a sock liner and also keeps dirt out of the shoe. The highly durable upper should last over 500km.

Engineered Mesh Upper

Minor change in the forefoot area makes the upper fit more relaxed. A couple of things change in the back of the shoe. There is increased foam stuffing in the upper collar wall. Superior grip and durability is seen with the new Adiwear heel outsole.

The outsole is one of the best in road shoe market. It has a Continental Rubber outsole which delivers 21% more traction in dry conditions and 23% more traction in wet conditions. Above this layer, there is also a firmer layer of EVA. EVA helps the Glide Boost 7 combine stability with cushioning, which is always a plus. Transition of gait cycle is helped by the firm consistency of EVA. Forefoot isn't very flexible, but it helps in efficient toe-offs. Torsion system is also present on the outsole. It is designed to aid smooth transition from midfoot stance to forefoot push-off.

Continental Rubber Outsole

It's not the lightest high mileage training shoe available and it tends to mute agility and fast-running impulses, this tradeoff can accepted for added support and protection. Overall it offers amazing levels of reliability, comfort and stability.
