The increase in popularity in the age old sport of running has seen plenty of running events being organized all over the country at different times. Sponsors have been thronging to get their names associated to the races and the Airtel Delhi half-marathon, and the Tata Steel Kolkata 25k stand testament to that.

A plethora of races are held ahead of these events in order to provide the runners the perfect platform to train and get ready for the big day in their city. However, each of them seem extremely alike and there is a need for innovation in order to keep the excitement in running going.

And that is exactly where PUMA fills in the gap with their unique series - Ignite Your City.

The IYC, as it is popularly called, is held all over the world and follows a refreshing format. The first stop - #IGNITEBANGALORE - will see an obstacle course at the end of a 5k run.

The ingenuity of the race will start ahead of the run itself as participants will get the chance to warm up at the amphitheatre of UB City - the start and finish point. After the race flags off at UB City, the runners will turn into Cubbon Road, take U-turn at Kamraj circle and eventually returning to the mall.

However, the race doesn’t end there. The participants will have to prove their endurance, strength and agility in the hurdles course before scaling the seemingly endless steps to reach the first floor where they finally cross the finish line. That is not the end of the fun, though.

After the gruelling race, the participants can let their hair down by having a look at the pop-up store or visiting the photo booth. Also, don’t miss the unique chance to #IGNITEBANGALORE through a hamster wheel.

Also, Indian football team striker Robin Singh and racecar driver Armaan Ebrahim will be flagging of the race and cheering the participants on.

And this is just the beginning, watch out for #IGNITEDELHI, #IGNITEKOLKATA, #IGNITEMUMBAI over the course of the year.

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s #IGNITEBANGALORE!
