Bengaluru's corporates get ready to run at the DHL Corporate Champions

The winning team will take home a prize of Rs 1,00,000

Wednesday, 15 April 2015, Bengaluru: With just a little more than a month to go for the TCS World 10K, Bengaluru, the DHL Corporate Champions is ready to give corporates from the city yet another reason to put on their running shoes.

Back for the fifth year, third under the DHL banner, the special race category within the full marathon is open to registered companies and firms, at least a year old on the date of application. The winning team will take home a cash-prize of INR 1,00,000 and the best male and female runner across the DHL Corporate Champions will win a cash prize of INR 10,000.

To participate in DHL CC, which will be held as part of the TCS World 10K on 17 May, 2015, the participating company or firm can field a team of three full-time employees - 2 men and 1 woman runner. During the run, each team member has to complete a distance of 10 kilometres and the best aggregate of net timings of each runner in the team will decide the finish positions in the run. One corporate entity can register upto 10 teams for the run.

Commenting on the association with the TCS World 10K and the DHL CC , Mr. RS Subramanian, SVP & Country Manager, DHL Express India, said "Marathon running is a test of the runners grit, passion and endurance. Running is also one of the best ways to counter stress and lifestyle related health problems. While individually what may seem like a task, as a team you can have a shared goal and achieve it too. Hence the The DHL CC is an attempt to make running an enjoyable team experience and we are very happy that each year we are witnessing increasing participation from corporates."

With a total prize money of INR 3,11,000 this year, the DHL Corporate Champions has been synonymous with the ability to infuse the spirit of team work among participating companies and has also doubled up as an effective HR tool across corporates. In the last four editions, the Corporate Champions has seen renowned companies like Infosys, Wipro, GE India, IBM India, Tesco, Tata Consultancy Services, Nike India among others participate in the category with passion and determination.
