Hi-Tec Haraka Running Shoes review

Shoe: Hi-Tec Haraka Running Shoe

When I was very kindly given this pair of Hi-Tec Haraka running shoes by one of the most genuine and much respected person in the sports community to try out, enjoy and have fun running around in them and if I like, I could review it too, all on a “if I feel to do so” basis, I happily accepted these shoes. Here is my review after almost 1.5 months of running /walking in them.

I have put in a mileage of approx. 90-100km in these shoes, the longest run being 15-16km.

Initial impressions: Very light weight, flexible, simple fit, minimal padding.

Decent looks and comfortable fit: Since these shoes carry a neat look of those casual wear shoes(non fluorescent) that you can wear anywhere and with anything, I started off initially wearing them to the office and while cycling. They look great with a pair of jeans or shorts. Since I am a little broad feet person, I had an instant liking for this shoe as it is wide, comfortable and roomy for the fore foot expansion and toe wiggling, holding the foot in the right place at the same time.

Short distance running shoe: From a runners perspective, they are an entry level trainer shoes giving good stability for a distance of 5km – 10km. Technical mesh upper gives good breathability and makes it airy. I haven’t had any complaints of blistering in these shoes so far. It has a midway outer sole. Being a mid foot striker, I find these shoes very comfortable, grippy and flexible for short distances as they are minimally padded. Good for fore foot strikers too.

Multi-purpose shoe: Very ideal shoe for the gym workouts, short distances, track running, jog/walk, casual outings/gatherings with friends.

Cons: Haven’t come across any.

Verdict:They are highly remarkable shoe for the price they are offered for. I am quite happy with these shoes so far and will be using them for my short runs henceforth. If you are looking for a well priced gym plus road running trainers with minimum padding, Haraka is a good bet.
