Nike prides itself at being market leaders in innovation. When the company began, it was determined to lay emphasis on developing an efficient shoe which would support every athlete to perform at his or her peak. Since then, till today, Nike has never compromised on innovation, and along that same thought, has recently launched its new line called ‘Nike Free’.

In order to give the users an experience of the value addition this product provides, Nike has been magnanimous enough to organise a first-ever race of its kind in Bangalore – the Nike Free Staircase Run. This event will be organised at UB City in Bangalore on 26th April 2014 from 6:30 am – 9:30 am.

After registration, there will be a relevant warm-up led by the Nike+Run Club coaches, and then the main event – where the runners will undergo a customized training drill on the staircase of UB City. These drills will not only help the participants strengthen their muscles and tendons, but also understand the flexibility of the Nike Free shoes.

The drills will be followed by a cool-down, after which the runners will be treated to a healthy breakfast at the Nike Brigade Road store. Sounds like a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning! You can RSVP for the event on Facebook, here: Nike Free Staircase Run.

What’s so special about this line of shoes though? Most people who are even a little aware about serious running would be well-versed with this range which was introduced by Nike way before the “Born to Run” cult hit the running community. Through careful research and innovation, Nike had introduced the range to help a runner transition into a more natural running form.

This latest line brings three absolutely revolutionary changes to the already amazing shoe. Let’s start with the sole. For the first time ever, Nike has introduced hexagonal flex grooves which provide the runner with multi-directional flexibility and allowing for a more natural stride. Again, with the aim to promote natural movement, the heel has been designed to roll as the athlete’s foot hits the ground.

The new design aims at mimicking the shape of the foot so that it allows the foot and the body to move even more naturally. And finally, the ultra-light, supportive and snug flyknit upper – this has been designed to provide a contoured fit over the Nike Free sole while providing areas of stretch, support and breathability while seamlessly integrating the flywire support where required.

With such a gamut of changes to be experienced, the Nike Free Staircase Run is certainly a strong reason to keep yourself free this 26th April 2014. Come and discover the joy of running, and experience the efficiency of the Nike Free line!

Of course, all this is part of the build-up to the TCS World 10K Bangalore 2014. Registrations for the open 10K close on 26th April, and you can sign up here - http://tcsworld10k.procamrunning.in/.
