Vadodara Ultra : The much awaited trail race winners declared

The winners in the ‘Male’ category

The much anticipated trail race held in Vadodara comes to an end in the most electrifying way possible on November 1st. The energy of all the participants in the race was the most appealing attraction of the event.

MALE WINNERS : First Prize money of Rs. 51,000 was awarded to Sameer Singh Gurjar (Mumbai), first rank winner of the 55 km race trail, with a duration of 6 hours, 34 minutes and 28 seconds. Rs. 21,000 was awarded to the second winner Mr. Sandeepkumar Ishwar singh (Surat) with a duration of 7 hours, 21 minutes and 11 seconds. 3rd winner Mr Abbas Ali Sheikh (Mumbai) completed the race with a duration of 7 hour 42 minutes and 43 seconds, awarded with Rs. 11,000.

FEMALE WINNERS : First Prize money of Rs. 51,000 was awarded to Vandana Hiten Parekh (Vadodara), first rank winner of the 55 km race trail, with a duration of 7 hours, 33 minutes and 50 seconds. Rs. 21,000 was awarded to the second winner Shilpa Deo (Bangalore) with duration of 8 hours, 46 minutes and 44 seconds. 3rd winner Simta Sharma (Mumbai) completed race with a duration of 9 hours, 40 minutes and was awarded with Rs. 11,000.

For the 25km trail race category, prize money of Rs. 35,000 was rewarded to Dhani Kumar from Kutch (male winner) for completing the race in fastest time, 2 hrs 25 min and 48 sec. and Prgnya Mohan from Ahmedabad(female winner). She finished the 25 category trail race in 3 hrs 7minutes and 47 sec.

Rs. 15,000 was awarded to the second prize winners, Manoj Suresh from Mumbai (male winner), who completed in 2 hours, 31 minutes, 35 seconds. Dr.Sonya Bave from Baroda(female winner) for completing the race in 3 hours 18 minutes and 47 seconds and a sum of Rs. 7,500 to the third position winners.

Zaheer Khan from Baroda(male winner) reached the finishing line in 2 hours 31 minutes and 59 seconds. Dr. Sushila Singh of Baroda(female winner) finished the race in 3 hours 34 minutes and 5 seconds.

The race included of all the participants coming from the various corners of the country. 64 participants were from Ahmedabad, 55 from Vadodara, 27 from Mumbai and many other cities likewise. Additionally, the participants were an interesting blend of experienced marathon runners in the past and also professionals from the various walks of life such as doctors, lawyers, and other occupations.

It was indeed a sight to witness the vibe of all the participants who belonged to non-racing background and yet eagerly took part in both the categories of the trail race. The trail race was conducted in the two different categories, 25km and 55km. The initial 15 kms were nearly the same for both the categories of the race across charming and picturesque locations in the outskirts of the city and the terrains of Pavagadh.

The actual race began from Navanagr, wherein, the participants ran across the testing hills and the uneven roadways of Pavagadh before reaching the finishing line. The organisers of the event had made sure that the participants of both the race categories experience an impressive experience of running amidst the locations.

Mr.Hiten Shah, the Director Uphill EMG reports, “We aim to create world class sporting events that are a glimpse of the level of excellence and challenge that we are capable of bringing. Right from urban running, trail running, cycling, mountain biking, and much more, we have made sure that we develop ports skills and diverse activities.”
