Commonwealth Games 2014: Harpreet Singh bags silver in 25m Rapid Fire pistol finals

Harpreet Singh added another silver to India's medal tally as he finished behind David Chapman of Australia in the 25m Rapid fire pistol final.

The Haryana lad started positively and was leading after 5 series of shots. Six men had made it to the finals.

Chapman and Canada's Metodi Igorov were looking strong as the finals progressed and threatened to cut short Harpreet's lead. Harpreet was involved in a tie shoot with Igorov and shot his way out of it as Igorov bowed out.

The 33-year old Indian was assured of a silver with one series left. Both Chapman and Harpreet had 19 points each heading into the last series.

The Australian held his nerve to claim another gold for his nation. Harpreet had won two gold medals in 25m centre fire pistol (individual and pairs) at the 2010 Commonwealth games in Delhi.
