10 fantasy WWE matches that we missed out

What if is one of the most loved phrases in professional wrestling. Whenever a big booking decision is executed, most fans starts thinking about the possible alternatives that would be possible and starts fantasizing how the scenario would turn out.And same goes with some dream matches. Over the years, WWE fans have been dreaming about superstars of different generation locking horns in between the ropes and though it is beyond reality, there is not tax for dreaming. With the WWEs latest game having all the hype, the fans could see their fantasy matches getting materialized to an extent. So here is a look at some of those matches which still hasnt been taken off our wish list.

#10 Bray Wyatt vs. Mick Foley

This is a match that almost everyone in the IWC would be familiar with. Before the fans started buzzing about this one, it was Foley himself who forwarded the idea.

He is known to be a big follower of Bray and always had praise for the Eater of the Worlds. The toll that Foley’s body took during his prime years led to his early retirement and it would be unfair to say that he shouldn’t have done all that.

If these two enter the ring to face eachother it would be a match filled with excellent in ring psychology while the action being a mixture of creepiness and hardcore which is too good to ignore.

#9 The Shield vs. NWo

The Shield is not as popular or important as the NWo when it comes to professional wrestling as a whole, but a six man tag team match involving both teams would be nothing short of brilliant.

Both factions had big impacts on their respective timelines and were known for given consistent performances whenever they were called up to do so.

Scott Hall going up against Rollins while Hogan and Reigns fighting it out would make this a must see match while Kevin Nash and Dean Ambrose would complete the pack and make this one of the best six man tag team matches in all aspects.

#8 CM Punk vs. Steve Austin

There were a lot of talk about this match last year but soon died off when Punk walked out of the company. Austin and Punk being in a feud would’ve given the fans some excellent promos which would be equally funny and intense.

Also it would be a clash of characters since Austin is a beer drinking Texas rattlesnake and Punk, well he is straight edge.

Unlike most of the matches in this list, there is a minute possibility of this match actually happening if Austin would be fit enough for one last match and Punk decides to bury the grudges and return to the company.

#7 Daniel Bryan vs. Kurt Angle

I would be lying if is say this will be ‘the’ best technical match, because there is something better coming up in the list.

However, keeping that apart, this is one match that the modern WWE fans have been crying for. Bryan was making a name for himself in the independent circuit while Angle was at his prime. And finally when Bryan made it to WWE, Angle left for TNA.

If Angle is able to return to WWE and Bryan would be able to wrestle again, we could see this match headlining some pay-per-view, but till then this belongs to the wish list.

#6 Shawn Michaels vs. Eddie Guerrero

Michaels had many epic matches throughout his career and when quizzed about the match that he never had, the Heart break kid pointed out Eddie’s name.

Both Michaels and Eddie have an excellent track record in the ring whenever WWE needed a solid match, these two were there to give it no matter who their opponent was.

The first retirement of Michaels was the reason why they didn’t cross paths and Eddie apparently got called up earlier than everyone expected. If it wouldn’t have happened, these two could’ve added another match to their resumes which are already full of great matches.

#5 Hardy Boys vs. The Usos vs. Dudleys

The Hardys and Dudleys along with Edge & Christian revolutionalised the triple threat tag team concept during the Attitude Era.

No one would mind having these three teams going at it once again but a more exciting idea is having some young blood. Usos is a team that is stuck in the wrong era and hasn’t had many big tag teams to face during their run.

Having ladder in the mix between these teams would make it a more exciting outing for everyone involved. Some high flying hard hitting tag team wrestling is the only thing that could come out of this as there are minimal possibilities of the match being botched.

#4 Sting vs. Undertaker

Brock Lesnar might’ve ended the streak but the dream lives on. There are still a lot of fans who are hoping to see these two legends in the ring for one last time.

Sting also went public about his wish of facing the dead man and the sooner it happens, the better for the company. It is a sure shot success story for the company even if the in ring action doesn’t match up to the hype as it would all be about respect.

Taker’s health is the biggest constraint for this match to happen and Sting’s time is also running out. And also, he has to officially sign with the WWE for the match to happen in the first place.

#3 Daniel Bryan vs. Chris Benoit

At one point or the other almost everyone would’ve drawn comparisons between Benoit and Bryan. The two have wrestling styles that is nearly impossible to distinguish. The career path of the two superstars also matches at certain levels.

During his career, Benoit had many great matches and it’s pretty sad how his career came to an end. He would’ve still been a main stay in the roster by this time but one thing that everyone should note is how Benoit opened the door for wrestlers like Bryan in the company.

Fans would pay their money to see these two any day and unfortunately it is something that won’t come true thanks to the dark side of professional wrestling.

#2 Kurt Angle vs. Bret Hart

This would’ve arguably ended up being one of the best technical matches ever in WWE. Bret and Angle are two superstars who actually ‘wrestled’ without all those flashiness.

They got in between the ropes just for business and adding some Iron Man stipulations would simply be swell. It was a match that could’ve actually happened if McMahon didn’t pull off the Montreal Screwjob which chased Bret away to WCW.

He only returned a decade later and was in no condition to wrestle while Angle was busy helping TNA to be in the map.

#1 John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan

Hogan recently pitted the idea of wanting John Cena as his final opponent. Though the internet fan base took this as a joke, this is a match that could’ve filled Arenas at any corner of the World if Hogan was good enough to wrestle.

These are superstars that carried the business on their shoulders at two different generations. Hogan was the poster boy back in before the Attitude Era while Cena took that place after that period.

It is a WrestleMania main event caliber match even if both men have shortcomings on their wrestling talent. It’s too late to materialize this one and wouldn’t have been on this list if Hogan stuck with WWE instead of jumping to TNA.
