10 signs that you are a hardcore wrestling fan

Vince McMahon is a legendary promoter when it comes to the professional wrestling business. He acquired a product from his father and made it an international phenomenon through all those rough and tough tides that he had to face.McMahon’s run as the owner of WWE has a lot of historical significance and the path was filled with milestones at all turns. However, that glorious run might be coming to end in the near future as an impending retirement flies around in the air.Triple H is almost certain to take over the promotion from that point and the increased amount of power he has now serves as a practice for the same. When measure with McMahon, Hunter does not have a big resume as a promoter but here are five reasons why he could surpass the boss himself.

#10 You see awful movies just because a wrestler is in it

Hollywood and WWE always goes hand in hand to a certain extent. The movie stars commute to the squared circle every now and then while the wrestlers with an acting dream go the opposite path as well.

Over the years, many WWE superstars have featured in Hollywood movies. And we, wrestling fans often see this as an opportunity to see our favorite wrestling in another incarnation.

We watch some god-awful films just because a wrestler is in it and no matter how bad the film turns out to be, you come out satisfied because of that one name that forced you to sit through a loosely stitched script decorated with some forgettable CGI.

#9 You like to perform moves on your pet

Pet’s and wrestling is an ultimate combination, especially when you don’t have a sibling to try out all your moves. No matter how big or small your pet is, it would’ve suffered the wrath of some wrestling move at some point.

Trying to get a pin down on your pet is another time killer while you are bored. It’s like having a personal jobber in the house for practicing.

And just in case the animal lovers found this offensive, none of the wrestling fans hurt their pet while performing moves and that’s the bottom line because Stone Cold Steve Austin said so.

#8 Youve broken something doing a move

I personally have to confess about this one. I’ve broken a bed trying while performing a body slam on my brother and had to lie that it broke on its own (which didn’t work pretty well by the way).

Growing up seeing the WWE superstars break various objects ranging from tables to show sets, it proved to be an inspirational thing to do. And since you didn’t have any where safer than the bed for practice some wrestling, the bed often ended up being the causality.

Breaking something around the house turned out to be a big proof for the ineffectiveness in Vince McMahon’s ‘Don’t try this at home’ message that is played every now and then.

#7 You remember months with the help of pay-per-view

Keeping track of time hasn’t been a strong suit for a majority of the people. Having a good weekend would make you forget about the days, month and years that form the calendar.

However, wrestling fans saw a way through this problem. They had the pay-per-views. We know which pay-per-view comes in which month and what follows or precedes the same.

And for the budding fans of the sport, Royal Rumble comes in January, Elimination chamber in February, WrestleMania in April, Extreme Rules in May, Payback in June, Money in the bank goes to July, August is for SummerSlam, September belongs to Night of Champions, Hell in a Cell in October, Survivor Series in November and TLC in December unless McMahon decides to play shuffle.

#6 Your Facebook News feed is filled with wrestling news and memes

They say that a man’s Facebook profile tells a lot about him and in this fast running social media world, the saying has a lot of credibility.

However, something which tells more is the personal newsfeed. It would be filled with news and subscriptions that you’ve made over the years and serve you with a menu that you love to see every morning.

When it comes to a wrestling fan, his newsfeed will have a lot of John Cena memes, some professional wrestling pages, the official announcements from WWE, TNA or ROH and everything else which makes the feed a wrestling paradise.

#5 You hate the current creative direction but still stick around

The current product of WWE is attracting heat from all directions. Half-baked storylines, under used talents, lack of innovative writing and heavy rely on the comic part makes the Network Era product a disaster with the only relief being some of exceptional talents.

And ill handling of the same talents makes matter worse. A Wrestling fan might criticize and complaint about how the company is going forward but they will always be loyal.

Wrestling fans are some of the most loyal groups that you can find around the world as even after all the complaining and whining they won’t miss a single show.

#4 This is Rock, not the other one

Regular people have meanings for a lot of words that the wrestling fans interpret differently. For instance, babyface for regular person would just bring the face of a baby into their mind while John Cena comes into a wrestling fan’s mind.

Rock is not be the big stony thing lying around the ground but is The Great One, The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment, The People's Champion.

Same goes for a long list of terms like Book, work, bury, burst open, color, and drop. We use the terms with an entirely different context which are often hard for the muggles to understand.

#3 Every object is a weapon

When you get so attached to wrestling one of the problems that are bound to happen is a change of perspective. Mick Foley’s Autobiography, Have a Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks beautifully depicts how he starts seeing everyday objects as weapons.

This didn’t happen when he was at the top of WWE, but happened when he was still a fan who drooled over the prospect of seeing Jimmy ‘The Superfly’ Snuka splashed from top of a cage.

Chairs no longer were built for sitting nor were cardboards around the house, they were mere weapons that could be used for wrestling because using them for another purpose would make it lose the magic.

#2 This will never be the real WWF for you

The World Wide Fund for Nature and the World Wrestling Federation shared the WWF initial from 1979 but in the year 2002, the dispute that the two organizations had resulted in the wrestling promotion changing its name to World Wrestling entertainment which abbreviated to WWE.

Now there is nothing wrong with the WWE initials but WWF had a nostalgic feel. The company went through the Attitude Era and Golden Era with that initial which is a hard to erase history.

The wrestling fans will never see the WWF as an organization for nature since no Panda can take away the nostalgic rooting that we have to those initials.

#1 Its real, oh its damn real

When someone tags wrestling as fake, it would be incredibly hard to hold back a wrestling fan from sparking a debate right there at that moment.

People who tag wrestling as ‘fake’ doesn’t know that the wrestlers are on road for more than 300 days in an year. They stay away from their family for the purpose of entertaining the fans and embracing the cheers once they come out through that curtain.

As far as the moves are concerned, they do hurt. They’ve been concussions, broken necks, broken legs, bloodied heads and even deaths in professional wrestling showing how much efforts that superstar put in just to make us happy.

And the loyalty that we have towards them is just a way of showing our respect to the business and its stars that deserves a lot more than how they are treated now.
