10 WWE superstars who are taller than you think

Big Show

Orton and HoganYou can’t always trust your eyes; sometimes your vision can be deceptive. This same vision could trick you when you are looking at a professional wrestler. You might see a WWE superstar and think that he is not tall like all the giants out there, but in reality, he or she could be well above the average height of WWE superstars. There are quite a few superstars who fall into this list of deceptively tall wrestlers, and here are their names:

#11 For the sake of comparison

Big Show

Big Show – 7’0″

Undertaker – 6’10”

Kane – 7’0″

Goldust – 6’6″

Alberto Del Rio – 6’5″

Bill Goldberg – 6’4″

Brock Lesnar – 6’3″

John Cena – 6’1″

Dean Ambrose – 6’4” (who is taller than Reigns at 6’2”)

#10 Mick Foley - 6\'2

Mick Foley

Mick Foley was not the prototype WWE wrestler. He did not have the ripped body or the great looks that usually make a superstar, but he went on to become a legendary name in the business anyway.

Although we might think that he is short, Foley is actually six feet and two inches tall. That is taller than names like John Cena, Seth Rollins, John Morrison and many others.

But Foley’s height has never been a topic for discussion since he has done other things that have become part of folklore in the wrestling business.

#9 Samoa Joe - 6\'2

Samoa Joe

After a long stint in the independent circuit and TNA, Samoa Joe finally made it to the WWE recently. One of the major factors that kept Joe out of WWE all these years was his weight. There were officials in the WWE that called him fat and didn’t want an ‘out of shape’ wrestler like him in the roster.

However, Joe went on to prove his worth and forced WWE to sign him up solely on the basis of merit. Joe might be ‘fat’ according to the WWE officials, but he is tall as well. He stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, just like Mick Foley, but since we only look at his weight, we often miss this fact.

#8 Mark Henry - 6\'4

Mark Henry

Mark Henry might only look as tall as Samoa Joe or Mick Foley, but in reality, the guy is taller. He is 6’4’’ tall and due to his imposing structure, we don’t often notice his height.

Henry is as tall as Goldberg and Gene Snitsky but despite being so tall, his height is never mentioned.

He is always tagged the world’s strongest man and there is a clear emphasis on his strength rather than the fact that the world’s strongest slam happens from a height of almost six feet.

#7 Randy Orton - 6\'5

Randy Orton

Randy Orton has an excellent physique. Everything about his body helps him be a better wrestler inside the squared circle.

Orton might not look tall when he stands on his own, but the Apex Predator is well above the average height mark. The former WWE champion is six feet and five inches tall, making him one of the tallest guys in the current main roster.

However, since Orton has never needed his size to win matches, WWE announcers have ceased to mention it; instead, they give more credit to his finisher that has broken the internet on some occasions.

If Orton was to stand in the ring with someone below the six feet mark, the height difference would be strikingly evident.

#6 Sheamus - 6\'6

Sheamus

Just like Orton, Sheamus is always overlooked when it comes to the height category. He is a big guy – there are no debates about that – but most of the time, ‘big’ is referred to his strength rather than his height.

Sheamus is actually taller than Randy Orton, which is pretty hard to tell if Sheamus is standing alone in the ring.

He has a similar height to that of JBL, Goldust, Test and Jack Swagger. But due to his lack of a lean physique, we tend to think that the Celtic Warrior is shorter than everyone he comes across.

#5 Batista - 6\'6

Batista

Batista was never seen as a tall guy. He was seen as an animal for his strength, just like Sheamus, but Batista never got the credit for his height.

Just like Sheamus, Batista stands at 6’6’’. That is well above the average height for an ordinary person, and also for a professional wrestler.

The Animal never needed his height to intimidate his opponents, as his strength was more than enough to get the job done. He is now trying out his luck in Hollywood but hopefully will return to WWE sometime in the future.

#4 Vader - 6\'6

Vader

Vader was known for performing moves that surprised the fans. He had a pretty huge body but he also had some top rope moves in his arsenal to pull off a surprise or two whenever he wanted.

Apart from a whopping weight of 452 pounds, Vader had an impressive height as well. He stood 6’6’’ tall and had enough stature to outclass most of his opponents.

For the sake of comparison, Vader is taller than Goldberg, Cesaro, Alberto Del Rio and many other superstars.

#3 Hulk Hogan - 6\'7

Hulk Hogan in Rocky III

Due to the spine-fusing surgeries that Hulk Hogan went through, his height was reduced by some inches. Still, Hogan’s current billed height is 6’7’’. He is taller than the most of the superstars in the list and though he looked small in comparison to Andre the Giant, Hogan’s height was there to be seen in the third movie of the Rocky franchise.

Hogan looked like a giant in front of Sylvester Stallone, and the face-off between the two went on to become an iconic scene. Hogan rarely locked horns with shorter wrestlers during his wrestling career, which is probably why his height never came to the fore.

#2 Brodus Clay - 6\'7

Brodus Clay

Brodus Clay had a lot of potential. He could have flourished as a monster heel in the WWE since he had the size to do so. However, WWE turned him into a comedy character that eventually bombed.

He later went to TNA and had a solid stint there, but he will always be remembered for the way in which he was wasted in the WWE.

Talking about Clay’s height, it didn’t seem like he was 6’8’’ tall since he was paired with Albert. Clay often danced around the ring, which further made it difficult to assume his actual height. Clay is in reality taller than the entire list of previous wrestlers you saw in the list.

#1 Big Daddy V - 6\'9

Big Daddy V

Big Daddy V was a King of the Ring winner once and at the same time, he was a monster jobber. No matter which role he played, his weight came to his rescue as it made him look like the monster heel that he was.

He was deceptively tall as well. Big Daddy V was almost seven feet tall, and was bigger than most of the tall guys that WWE had at that time.

He was just one inch shorter than the Undertaker and three inches shorter than the Big Show. But just like the theme of the list, his height was never a point of discussion.

Big Daddy V died abruptly of a heart attack in 2014. May his soul rest in peace.

If we missed anyone, feel free to share those names in the comment section.
