3 Huge feuds for Kevin Owens

KO vs The Deadman?

The sky is the limit for KOIt’s good that Kevin Owens isn’t being bashful when it comes to telling the world and WWE who he would like to face at WrestleMania or in his future matches. The current Intercontinental Champion is one of the more consistent wrestlers on the roster, turning in “Grade A” performances against John Cena, Cesaro and now it seems like Dean Ambrose is next on the hit list. How WWE uses the former NXT Champion while the roster heals itself from a rash of injuries could play right into his hands. Owens could be the best heel to come along in some time, as he can talk the talk, perform at a high level for a man his size and create heat from the men in the back and from the fans who love his heel persona and how he delivers night after night.WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens recently appeared on the “Like Father, Like Son” podcast with Jeramie McPeek of the Phoenix Suns. Here’s what he had to say about who he wants to face at the big WrestleMania 32 event in Dallas.“I’ve answered this question a couple of times and my answer is always Brock Lesnar because I’d just love to be in the ring with him and see what it’s like. There’s nobody quite like Brock Lesnar, as far as pure strength and viciousness and everything. I’d love to see if I could hang with him and see how much I could hurt him.”A clash of the former and current bully on the school yard and the future bully would signal a changing of the guard so to speak. If by some miracle of chance these two giants met with the WWE World Title on the line (not that is in the plans for next year’s event) then WWE could have one of the biggest matches it has had in years.WWE has been looking for a huge match and babyface to get over with the thinning crowd of fans. This might be the answer to its long-desired prayers.Lesnar is not the only wrestler who could present the big “pay day” the company is looking for with regard to Owens. These three wrestlers could also be the ticket to paradise and a whole lot of money in the bank as the superstar continues to ascend WWE’s ladder.

#1 Undertaker

KO vs The Deadman?

He is the other wrestler Owens wants to get into the ring with. It would certainly be epic, no doubt.

This is what he had to say when asked about the potential encounter.

I’d love to get in the ring with The Undertaker one day, too. I feel like that’s a long shot, I guess, because he wrestles on a limited basis and when he does, it’s always a huge deal. But, hopefully I can position myself in the next year or so to be seen as a viable opponent for the Undertaker, because it would be a thrill to be in the ring with him at WrestleMania or anywhere. It can be on a Raw or a live event, I don’t really care. I’d just love to be in the ring with him. I feel like that would be an experience I’d never forget.”

There has to be some hook to a match with Undertaker. Things like this don’t just happen. And since ‘Taker is advancing in age, would time take its toll on him?

The problem with a match like this, of course, is physicality, we have seen him the past two years in the ring with Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt and he has looked good in once sequence (Wyatt) and awful in the other (Lesnar at WrestleMania 30).

Owens might carry the match, which should be expected. But would it get over with the fans?

#2 Bray Wyatt

Owens vs Wyatt – A perfect match up

Wyatt is essentially running out of singles opponents. Or at least babyfaces to get in the ring with. He has no fear and is one of the best in the business right now.

Owens has no fear and the two men, who size and agility have forgotten, would kill it in the ring with Wyatt.

What’s the angle here, however? One of Wyatt’s biggest strengths is trying to mentally beat down his opponent with mental chess. Owens isn’t at that stage yet where he can counterbalance that type of out of ring psychology.

It may be something that Wyatt brings out of him and creates more of a dynamic to Owens’ character.

There is no doubt this could be another feud for the ages, possibly a three-match encounter that tears the roof of an arena. It also has the makings of a series – much like the one with Roman Reigns – that helps to define both of them, and helps to further embellish Wyatt’s already growing legend.

#3 Dean Ambrose

Would Ambrose be the next Intercontinental champion?

This started before the WWE World Title Tournament, continued through the semi-final match and now, with Ambrose the top contender for Owens’ belt, it figures to get a bit steamy in these closing weeks of the year.

Owens is as cocky as he is methodical. Ambrose is as crazy as he is methodical. Both were magic in the ring at Survivor Series and could have a solid three-match program, something WWE needs desperately.

If the Intercontinental Title is still the second most prestigious belt in the company and Owens and Ambrose fight over it like former greats of the past, this feud could be one of the best in 2016.

This is a feud that has so many implications to it, especially if both competitors are going to be part of main event programs in the future. They are both rising stars and this could also be a feud WWE can go back to time and time again and count on it for quality as well as quantity.
