The 61-year-old captain of the team here proves that age is just a number

61-year-old Mera Devi, a Rajasthan native, is determined to prove the world that “age is just a number”. The head of the family will captain one of the teams taking part in the statewide 7-a-side 7 over cricket tournament, Saath7.

She will lead the team which comprises of her family members, and the decision to become the skipper of the team shows an incredible level of exuberance from her side. Naturally, she wants her team to do well in the tournament rather than just make up the numbers.

We’re thrilled to see you play cricket, Mera Devi. Keep up the energy.

#2 5 all-womens teams

The Powerpuff girls of Jaipur

The #Saath7 Cricket Mahotsav has garnered enough attention and respect at the same time thanks to a special rule drafted by the organisers.

The rule states that any team that fields a female player will be awarded extra seven runs. The presence of such a rule helps encourage female participation and is looking at the future to try and help the game grow even further.

What shows how good and involved the participation is the fact that a total of three all-women's teams registered themselves for the tournament. It is always great to see women rub shoulders with men. More power to Indian women!

#3 Special team

The special team that will be part of the tournament

The response towards the competition has been great and quite a lot of teams have enrolled for the competition.

Notably, one of the teams taking part is a special team, as it comprises of seven players who are deaf and dumb. The fact that they want to get out there and show their skills shows how effective a platform this tournament is.

The team is captained by Pawan Kumar Mangal who is raring to go and wants his team to demonstrate their cricketing skills and surprise everyone else.

The special team will be fighting against around 9000 teams to win cash prizes of up to 30 lac and will give it their all to give the winner of this magnificent and unique #Saath7 Cricket Mahotsav.
