The quarter of WWE constitutes of the last three months of this year namely- October, November and December. It has arguably been the most exciting part of the year as it has paved the way for the future of the WWE. The last quarter saw John Cena in typical SuperCena fashion but yet taking a backseat to the new generation which is making its presence felt. This period has arguably been a time which can make a lot of difference to WWE’s productHere are five reason why it has been the important:

#1 Hell In A Cell

When you have two of company’s biggest starts fighting to see who’ll be the number One Contender for Lesnar’s title, in which part of card would you predict they’ll be put at. The main event is an obvious answer.

But, reportedly after some last minute discussions, the management went ahead with Dean Ambrose Vs Seth Rollins as the match to end the show. Nothing was on the line. The selling point was the betrayal by Seth Rollins and the revenge of Ambrose.

The night ended with Wyatt kickstarting a new feud with Ambrose. And thus, was the first step towards building a new future beyond Cena.

#2 Survivor Series

The match surrounding the biggest hype was the Traditional Tag match which determined The Authority’s future in the fictional realm of the WWE. The match that did not have much hype and with a poor build up was the one with Ambrose and Wyatt.

Not only did the former Shield and Wyatt Family members respectively deliver, the main event delivered on a whole new level. Sting made his debut in the most spectacular way possible and Ziggler became the sole survivor actually marking an apt underdog story.

It solidified the hardcore fanbase’s many wishes and it was trending worldwide.

#3 CM Punk reveals his side of the story

The biggest news of this year, regarding WWE has been CM Punk’s departure. It took its sweet time to actually settle as the audience were still under the impression that Punk will eventually return. Undertaker’s streak ended, Lesnar decimated Cena at Summerslam and Punk eventually joined UFC but nothing compared to what CM Punk had to say in the almost 2 hour long podcast. It brought forth the many negative aspects of being employed by the WWE.

It nonetheless led to some more attention on Vince McMahon’s appearance on the Seve Austin podcast, which was interesting as well.

It has to be the most happening week by any measure, non-fictionally. It did bring attention to the WWE. And an old Vince McMahon saying came to the fore, “Any publicity is good publicity”

#4 NXT Takeover- R Evolution

NxT Takeover is the real deal?
NxT Takeover is the real deal?

This is the show of this month and no better way to end it than have the future stamp its authority all overthe place. Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Kevin Owens and many others stole the show for NXT and that atmosphere was just brilliant. It was something that greatness was made off. It was way better than Raw, smackdown and TLC combined. It delivered a splendid show and put some major much deserved spotlight on the future of the WWE.

The ‘NXT’chants resonated much like the ‘ECW’ chants once did. The ‘This Is Awesome’ and ‘HolyS#!^’ chants also made their way through. What was great was when the audience went into a chorus and chanted ‘this is wrestling’ for the Women’s match.

#5 TLC

TLC wasn’t as great as many PPV’s WWE has put up this year. But it is important for one major thing- the young guys of the Shield held their own in the PPV and one of them already has a second PPV main event to his name.

Wyatt and Ambrose delivered one of the better matches of the night and ended the night on quite a note. Rollins held his own against John Cena and Reigns made his return after months. And Ziggler is a Champion again. He may as well be in the process of becoming an all time great IC Champion.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
