5 Reasons why WWE don't need CM Punk anymore

CM Punk walked out of WWE in a way which was least expected from most of his fans.He still had a few months left in his contract and the writers were also building storylines around him for WrestleMania. But dropping a pipe bomb into every ones heart, Punk just left a big void in the company. And the best part of about WWE is that the show must go on. They didnt slow down or drop down when Punk left the company. Instead, we saw some innovation and freshness into the product which slowly overshadowed the absence of the Straight edge superstar.Over the past few months WWE has proved to us that they dont need Punk to be a top gun in the business and here are five reasons why.

#5 NXT and other upcoming talents

The developmental territory of WWE has always produced some extra ordinary talents. The list includes names like John Cena, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt and many others. And now that the Network is there, the latest version of development (NXT) has found its feet.

The NXT stars have gained more popularity with the exposure they got from the Network meaning that their promotion to the main roster is going to be easier than ever.

Along with that WWE has a string of names who could replace Punk in terms of in ring talent. There are name like Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Cesaro who are rising up the ranks and could well end up as the next Punk.

The only thing that will be missing will be the established name in the ring as the talent between the ropes can be molded again.

#4 There is another Indy darling for the Internet Fan Community

One cannot simply ignore the impact that the Internet Fan Community had on the rise of Punk to a big star. The people who were aware of his success in the independent circuit were right behind him as they saw him as someone different.

The difference in Punk came in the fact that he was someone who lived the underdog story and climbed the hill. But once Punk reached the top, every one needed a new hero.

Daniel Bryan fell right into the slot and he quickly became the Indy darling held down by WWE in front of everyone. Ever since Bryan started the feud with the Authority, he established himself as an internet favorite and slowly began to overshadow Punk.

And when Punk left, Bryan started to rise and till someone else comes up, he is going to stay at the top just like Punk did.

#3 WWE is not a sports franchise

Take for instance the English Premier League; there are clubs that have star players like Wayne Rooney, Luis Suarez or Eden Hazard. When one of these players is taken away from their team, it certainly impacts their performance and there is a tendency for the club to struggle.

But WWE is not a sports franchise, they are an entertainment company.

The departure of one particular is not going to affect the performance of the company as they could easily find a replacement. Just like in the films, if the script is good and you have an upcoming talented actor, you could have a blockbuster in your hand. You don’t need an Oscar winner to act every role.

WWE is just pure show business and people may come & go but as said earlier, the show goes on.

#2 They found a better mic worker

One of the best traits that Punk had apart from his in-ring brilliance was his microphone skills. Punk had some great promos throughout his WWE career. They were both entertaining and controversial while keeping the fans on their seat.

Many of us saw Punk as the best mic worker that WWE had to offer, until we saw Bray Wyatt.

The mystique surrounding Bray was so good that Punk’s comedic timings were simply substituted by some psychological war fares. Bray may not make the people laugh like Punk but he sure knows how to keep them captive.

Bray is proving to be a better mic worker than Punk was and WWE had to look no further for a replacement when Punk actually left.

#1 Punk was never the One

We have wresters like Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Steve Austin and John Cena who are the without any doubt were the face of the company.

They were instrumental in almost every aspect of the business other than in ring work. All of them starred in Hollywood movies, pay-per-view sellers and top merchandise sharks.

And then there are superstars like Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit and CM Punk, who the fans love to see but are always behind the above mentioned category. These guys but never was the ones who carried the company during times.

So if Cena left the company, it would’ve been a big news. When Hogan left to WCW, they gained foothold with the NWo angle. But when Kurt Angle left WWE to TNA the same didn’t happen, same happened for Chris Benoit and his retirement.

Same is going to happen for Punk, it might be a hard fact to swallow, but Punk never was the face of WWE.
