5 WWE superstars who should return before Royal Rumble

The present roster of WWE has been depleted big time due to various reasons. If its injury for certain names, walking out on the fans was the reason for some others. Then there is the rare breed called Rey Mysterio who apparently wants to jump into a Mexican promotion before his current contract ends. All these have pushed the writers into an awkward situation where they don’t have enough resources to pull off a big success story.Wrestlers like Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Rusev are taking proper advantage of this opportunity but the company has to fill up their roster before they head into next year’s first pay-per-view, Royal Rumble. So here is a look at the possible names that could return to WWE before Royal Rumble.

#5 Undertaker

WWE fans still scratch their head about what the future holds for Undertaker. The only thing that connected him to the promotion was his WrestleMania streak and since that came to an end this year, big question marks circle around Taker’s involvement.

There are new rumours coming in about Taker’s career every now and then but nothing can be confirmed yet. He apparently would be working as a trainer in NXT while staying away from the ring but WWE should try to bring back the Phenom if they want him to step between the ropes at WrestleMania.

A major problem that WWE faced this year was the lack of buildup for the Lesnar – Taker match and they can’t afford the same if Taker is going to have one last effort on the grandest stage of them all.

#4 Chris Jericho

Jericho returning wouldn’t look as exciting as some of the other names on the list but the human highlight reel could still pout over a youngster like anything.

His last run didn’t turn out good initially due to the ring rust factor but as he moved towards the end, Jericho started giving some solid encounters against the likes of Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton.

His break from the wrestling world might bring back the ring rust into play but Jericho is likely to return by the time TLC is upon us, which makes it just one month out of action and less ground to pick up.

There wouldn’t be any lack of creative direction for Jericho as he can pull off a feud with almost anyone in the roster and look good in it.

#3 Brock Lesnar

Lesnar’s absence has been discussed a million times before but the situation cannot be stressed enough. Though there are many names missing from the roster, it is Lesnar’s name that haunts the company big time.

Not having a superstar of his star power and most importantly not having a champion is hurting the WWE at every show. According to the rumors, Lesnar might not return to the company before 2015 which means he will skip two more pay-per-views.

Vince McMahon would know about the effects that could generate and would be doing everything he can to bring back Lesnar earlier than he has planned.

#2 Roman Reigns

The injury status of Reigns is yet to be completely exposed by the WWE which leaves behind a lot of suspense about his big return. Reigns went out of television while travelling to the top and due to such an absence, he would get nothing less than a hero’s welcome when he makes his return.

He can be put into any angle in the main event scene and Reigns would come out looking good. The ideal thing would be to let Reigns win the Royal Rumble and go on to headline WrestleMania but before that, he needs some momentum.

WWE should build that momentum before Rumble arrives and Survivor Series or TLC would be ideal return options for the Samoan Superstar.

#1 Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon has always taken up the responsibility whenever his promotion was in a crisis situation. The current situation is no different and calls for the boss to make a triumphant return.

The whole Triple H – McMahon ruling of the company is not doing any good for the fans as they firmly believe that Hunter should be given full control over the promotion. Since that isn’t happening anytime soon, the best that McMahon could do to help Hunter is to bring back his character.

The Mr. McMahon gimmick still is a big draw in the business and the fans would drool over the prospect of seeing a power battle between Triple H and Vince.

With a lot of injuries piling up to active in-ring performers, WWE wouldn’t have much trouble bringing back McMahon for a role that doesn’t involve much physicality.
