It is an event that is bound to make or break careers. The matches and stipulations involved in this pay per view are designed to punish those who participate in it.This is the sixth edition of the Extreme rules event and the level of extremity seems to be on the rise. However, with all the brutality that comes into play, the WWE has also hosted some bizarre matches as a part of this PPV. Let us have a look at some of those matches that are ..err.. quite not in sync with the word 'extreme'.

#1 Hair match

Absconding WWE superstar CM Punk, once the leader of a faction known as the 'straight edge society' was feuding with the 'ultimate underdog' Rey Mysterio.

The two had earlier feuded in a match at wrestlemania with the stipulation that if Mysterio lost, he had to join Punk's faction. Rey, was however victorious and he certainly did not leave things there. He challenged Punk to a match at the 2010 Extreme rules with a condition that if Punk lost, he had to shave his head just like all his other disciples. Punk, being the wily guy that he is obliged to the match.

Mysterio dominated proceedings in the event but lost the bout after an unidentified 'masked man' attacked him, helping Punk pick up the victory and maintain his long locks.

#2 Extreme makeover match

The WWE toyed with the idea of having a 'extreme makeover match' between two of WWE's top Divas ( at that time ) Michelle McCool (c) and Beth Pheonix.

The "Glamazon' Beth Pheonix, crossed paths with the annoying Smackdown consultant Vicky Guerrero, who had aligned with team Lay-Cool. This led to an 'Extreme makeover' match between Beth and Michelle for the Divas title at the 2010 WWE Extreme rules. What made this match bizarre was the props that came in handy.

From your hairsprays to your lipsticks and your ironing boards to your daily mops, the divas had everything at their mercy to go for the kill.

Beth emerged victorious and in the process became the new Divas champion. The match however will be etched in your minds for the 'extreme' props that were used... rather efficiently.

#3 Hog pen match

Ok, this one takes the cake for being the most bizarre match in 'Extreme rules' history.

Santino Marella, dressed up as his his twin sister 'Santina' fought Vicky Guerrero in a 'hog pen' match for the most coveted prize in WWE Divas history. No, we're not talking about the DIvas title. We're infact talking about the title of 'Ms Wrestlemania'.

A typical hog Pen Match takes place in a hog pen full of pigs, placed near the stage. The match could be won by pinfall and submission. The match can also end by throwing your opponent into the pig pen.

Coming to the match, Vickie Guerrero initially sent in Chavo Guerrero to deal with Santina. She/he overpowered Chavo after a comical turn of events. The attention was then diverted to a 'squealing' Vicky Guerrero, who was pinned in no time to give Santina the win and the ownership to retain title.
