Sushil Kumar Prasad is a former left-arm spinner who began his domestic career playing for Delhi. He later moved to the Orissa team and remained part of it for the rest of his career. During his stint with Orissa, he achieved the rare feat of picking up 15 or more wickets in a Ranji Trophy match when he returned figures of 15 for 89 against Tripura in the 1990/91 season.

The figures of 9 for 52 which Prasad recorded in Tripura’s 2nd innings went on to become the best of his first-class career. In the process, he helped his team Orissa inflict a massive innings defeat over their opponents. His match figures are also the second best by a left-arm spinner in the Ranji Trophy topped only by Karnataka’s Raghuram Bhat.

#4 Raghuram Bhat, 15 for 84 vs Tamil Nadu, 1988

Although Karnataka could muster only 94 in their 2nd innings, Raghuram picked up 7 for 41 in the 4th innings to seal a 67-run victory for his home side.

When the slow left-armer achieved this milestone, he became only the fourth bowler in Ranji Trophy history to get 15 wickets or more in a match. The three bowlers who did it before him were Subhash Gupte, Premangsu Chatterjee and Pradeep Sunderam.
