#1 Twin Brother

Kane Williamson was not an only child

Kane Williamson has a twin brother named Logan Williamson. Their parents claim that Kane is the elder twin as he was born just minutes before Logan. Kane and Logan were born on 8th August, 1990 as undiagnosed twins.

According to his father, Brett Williamson, “They might not look like twins, but they've got something," says Brett. "I've never heard them argue or fight. It was cool to see them grow up together and take pride in each other's achievements.”

#2 If not cricket, then surfing!

Williamson is fond of surfing as much as he is in love with cricket. He lives near a white sand beach in Taurunga. Surfing is his favourite hobby, when he doesn’t have much to do in his professional game he likes to surf with his friends.

In the yeat 2015, he was seen surfing with the Dale Steyn when they caught up with each other for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

#3 Head Prefect in College

Kane Williamson’s calculating approach has seen him dig his team out of trouble single-handedly several times already

Williamson was a bright child and performed brilliantly when he attended Tauranga Boys’ College. In his final year, he was selected as the ‘Head Prefect’ of the college. His coach Josh Syms praised his calculating approach towards everything.

In an interview with the New Zealand Herald, he had said, “He had a thirst to be phenomenal, but not at anyone else’s expense. It was more ‘this is what I love, this is what I’m good at, so I’m going to do that.’ He’s calculating; he boils things down to nuts and bolts. He’ll take the emotion out of it and ask: ‘If I do this, what will be the outcome?’ He identifies the problem and how he’s going to solve it. He works out what’s going to happen.”

Well, who would have thought that a Head Prefect would be the country’s next star!

#4 Always around sports

Kane Williamson and Doug Bracewell were childhood friends

Williamson belongs to a sporting family and has always had a sporting ambience around him. His sisters played volleyball and his cousin Dane Cleaver plays domestic cricket for the Central Districts.

Dane is a wicket-keeper and is two years younger than his cousin Kane. Doug Bracewell, the New Zealand pacer, has been a childhood friend of his and Trent Boult also lived near his house.

#5 Philanthropist

In 2014, there was a massacre in Pakistan when terrorists killed 32 children in a school in Peshawar. Williamson did not hold back in helping those who suffered and he donated all of his match fees from the ODI series against Pakistan that year.

He gave away thousands of dollars to the victims of the attacks. Williamson was kind enough to show support for the cause despite the fact that the New Zealand cricketers don’t get paid as much as some other bigger teams in the world.
