#1 He was named after Ronald Reagan
Unlike his Brazilian namesake, Ronaldo was named after former U.S President Ronald Reagan. Ronaldos father Jose loved Reagan, who was an actor before he became a politician, and promptly named his son after him.
#2 He didn\'t want the number 7 shirt
The number 7 is synonymous with Ronaldo but did you know he originally didnt want to wear the shirt for United due to the illustrious former players who wore it for the club? In November 2012, Ronaldo sold the golden boot he had won in 2011 for €1.5 million and gave the money to fund schools for children in Gaza. In December 2012, Ronaldo joined FIFA's '11 for Health' programme to raise awareness amongst kids of how to steer clear of conditions including drug addiction, HIV, malaria and obesity.
