A Point Guard is the most specialized role in NBA. They run the team’s offense by controlling the ball and passing it to the right man at the right time. The main role of point guard is to create scoring opportunities, controlling the tempo of the game and attack the basket sometimes. The first player who strikes the mind when we say point guard is none other than Magic Johnson, who played as point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers for 13 seasons. We have rated here the top five point guards to play in the recently released 2K Sports basketball simulation game NBA 2K15. We have already released the top five shooting guards from this game. And these players are rated based only on their in-game ratings.

#5 Derrick Rose

We start off with Derrick Rose, one of the formidable point guards for Chicago Bulls. Because of his injury, his rating is comparatively low as he is rated only 88, first of the three players to have same ratings. Rose is regarded as the best scoring point guard in NBA. Last season was a season to forget for Rose as he played in only 10 matches in which he averaged 15.9 points, 4.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds per game in 31.1 minutes per game. His loss affected the Bulls in the long term as they struggled offensively.

In 2011, Rose was named as the NBA Most Valuable Player, becoming the youngest player to win this award at only 22 years of age.

The fourth player on the list and the second player to have been tied with same ratings is Russell Westbrook (88). Westbrook was drafted into NBA in 2008, where he got selected by Oklohoma City Thunder. Westbrook has formed a considerable partnership alongside the league’s MVP and top scorer Kevin Durant, who is also the cover star of this game.

Last season, Westbrook managed to set his career high in steals and rebounds. He averaged 21.8 points, 6.9 assists, 1.9 steals and 5.7 rebounds per game.

#3 Tony Parker

Tony Parker is rated behind Stephen Curry with only a point between them. Tony Parker is a four time NBA Champion with Spurs by winning the titles in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014. Parker has also been named in six NBA All-Star games, three All-NBA Second Teams, and an All-NBA Third Team.

Last season, Tony Parker alongside Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan tied the record for most wins in NBA Playoffs History by a trio of players playing together, the record which was held by Los Angeles Lakers trio of Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Cooper.

Last season, Parker averaged 16.7 points and 5.7 assists per game for the Spurs.

Stephen Curry takes the second place with a rating of 89 in the game. Curry is a magnificent shooter and an underrated ball-handler. During the 2012–13 NBA season, Curry set the NBA record for three-pointers made in a regular season with a whopping 272. Also the next season, he made 261 three-pointers, and setting an NBA record for most three-pointers in a span of two seasons with 533.

Alongwith his teammate Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry set an NBA record for 484 combined threes on the year which made everyone call them “The Splash Brothers”. Last season, Curry finished with career high in points and assists. He averaged 24.0 points and 8.5 assists per game.

Topping this list is arguably the best Point Guard in the NBA and is duly rated 91 in the game. Chris Paul or CP3, gave an all-round performance last season averaging 19.1 points, 10.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. Last season, he led the league in both assists and steals. It was the third time he had averaged at least 19 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and two steals per game in a season. Only Isiah Thomas is the other player to equal this record in a season.

Also, last season Chris Paul led the league in steals for a consecutive fourth time. He has led the NBA in assists three times and steals six times.
